Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and composer. The singer combines soul gospel jazz with R&B to create a unique blend. From Broadway to European clubs and festivals, the artist has worked everywhere. Sunshine refers to Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta however, she comes from Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing and playing the piano in churches. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical training began on Atlanta's R&B Scene. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 about serving as the Director of Choral for Dreamgirls, the theatre production of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine earned national fame during her four daily performances during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform at President Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration.
