Winona Laura Horowitz is also known her real name as Winona Ryder is a native of Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after the town she grew up in. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father had an Jewish family.
